The big phone news today was Verizon's 8830. This silver version of the 8800 will be on Verizon some time in the upcoming months. This is big news for two reasons- finally Verizon gets a Blackberry that is relatively new and Verizon is going to finally have a phone that does not suck. wow. I was pretty excited about the prospect of picking up a 8830 when it hit, but then I remembered this:

That's right, the 8300.  (Here is a breakdown of the newest phones from RIM). It has the features of the 8800 (or in this case the 8830) but with a camera and better keys. Yeah, the form factor is not as slick and I would want to wait for the WiFi model, but I can deal with that. The only questions are if and when Verizon is going to have a model available...
