At CES
I'm making this post from the Las Vegas Convention Center (LVCC) South press room, so yes, I have arrived in Vegas. I had a too-early flight out of Newark so I am burning some time before getting over to the Venetian for today's press events. There is one going on right now, but the good stuff does not start for another hour and a half. In the meantime I am just going to hang out here and drink all the free soda and eat all the free bagels that I can.
Today is actually a pretty interesting day because a lot of people are here but there is not much we can do yet. The main show floor is closed no companies are doing meetings (it is Sunday after all) and lots people are just scrambling to find a television so they can watch football. The good news is that Digital Experience which is one of the best events of CES is at 6pm, so that's just a few hours away...
I am actually really excited for some of these blogger events to start up. Last year at CES no one was talking about blogs aside from the big players, like Engadget and Gizmodo, but this year it's all anyone is talking about. CES has always been very liberal about who they let in and who gets a press pass so I don't really this as a big change, but the "blogger" label has to be attached to everything. It doesn't bother me at all, because there are a lot of cool lounges open so there should be some cool places to hang out and get some work done. The Bloghaus looks like it's going to be the best of show, but we'll see...
